This week marked the beginning of our 2023-2024 school year at Chesterton Academy! Returning students were welcomed back on Monday, and new students on Tuesday.

Our school has grown significantly. We've nearly doubled the number of students and we also added two new teachers, Ms. Hernandez and Mr. McCauley, and a new receptionist/secretary, Mrs. Mora. (Learn more about them here!)

Students were also impressed by the newly expanded chapel space and the upgraded classrooms and hallways, which have been freshly cleaned and repainted.

To start the year, the entire faculty and staff took an Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church, pledging to “preserve the Deposit of Faith in its entirety, hand it on faithfully and make it shine forth.”

Students began the morning, as they always do, by chanting Morning Prayer from the Liturgy of the Hours, the ancient prayer of the Church, sanctifying their day as an offering to God.

We also welcomed a news crew from WKMG 6, the local CBS affiliate, who came to do a story on Chesterton Academy and the newly expanded state scholarship program. They interviewed Mr. Hickel, our Headmaster, and Brandon Vogt, the school founder and chairman. The story will air on Friday (8/11) and we will plan to share the video on our website.
