On September 30, Chesterton Academy of Orlando welcomed parents, board members, alumni, students, and donors for a special Taste & See Seminar centered on C.S. Lewis’s The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Guests were divided into three groups of about 16, each led by our Headmaster or one of our two Deans, for a lively seminar discussion on an excerpt from the beloved classic. Together, they explored the story’s deeper themes and considered how Lewis’s work invites readers to encounter truth, goodness, and beauty through great literature.

The evening’s experience began before guests ever entered the seminar room. The school was transformed into Narnia, with wardrobes placed outside classrooms for guests to literally “walk through” on their way to and from their discussions. Hallways were decorated with Narnian touches, and student volunteers brought the Pevensie family to life as guests made their way throughout the school. After the seminars, guests continued through the wardrobes and into a spread of refreshments inspired by the evening’s theme, creating plenty of time for conversation, fellowship, and reflection.

The evening was a wonderful glimpse into the kind of education we strive to offer at Chesterton Academy—one that brings people together around great books, meaningful conversation, and the pursuit of truth and beauty. We are grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make this Taste & See Seminar such a memorable evening.
