One of the core principles we instill at Chesterton Academy is that interior order flows from exterior order.

And to help form students in exterior order, each Friday students clean the entire school campus. 

They mop floors, wipe down classrooms, polish windows and doors, collect trash, clean all the bathrooms, and more. Each House is responsible for different tasks. 

As a result, students develop much greater care for and ownership of the school.

They clean the campus not just because they have to but because it's their school and they take pride in it.

(Plus, as a bonus, it saves on janitorial costs!)
