Earlier this week, on All Saints Day (Tuesday, November 1), students at Chesterton Academy hosted their first annual Holy-Ween event!
Using boxes and other materials, students built tunnels and caves throughout the school building for their younger friends attending our sister elementary/middle school, Highlands Latin.
The younger kids dressed up as their favorite saints and journeyed through our tunnels, which took them into various classrooms where each Chesterton Academy House put on an All-Saints Day skit about their House's patron saint (i.e., Augustine, Ambrose, Athanasius, and John Chrysostom).
Students also received a guest visit from G.K. Chesterton himself, portrayed by our own Theology/Philosophy teacher, Mr. Michael De Salvo.
The journey finally ended with a party in “heaven,” a special room filled with heavenly treats and delights.
It was amazing to see so much excitement about the saints. May our students one day join their number!
